BANE AND BATS

Merry Christmas to you all! Just did a a very quick comic doodle and slapped on a ten minute colour job on it.

Alot of talk about Dark Knight Rises at work this week, which made me want to draw a quick Batman and Bane comic, based on the big issue of Banes audio, which is quite hard to hear in the trailer and I've heard you can't make out anything he says in the prologue, but there is time to fix it and I'm sure it will be as good as the first two, and still can't wait to see it!

Caricatures

Just some quick caricatures I did in the week, of my friends. I did them in a different style than I normally did them in. A few years back when I was very strapped for cash I decided I'll try doing Caricatures in Lichfield Town Center, which went down really well and I made a nice penny out of it, as well as meeting some very interesting people in the process.

If anyone would be interested in getting one for them self, drop me a message I might start doing commissions =D

The Boy and the Beast

This is a poster for my final film next year. The Boy and the Beast. I'll be posting more details in the next few weeks.

The silhouette of the beast isn't the final shape of the character, I'm still in the design process of it. The Boy is almost finished in design, there might be a few tweaks that I might make, but here he is so far.

Backgrounds!

Today I have started on some of the background for my animation, with the help of the very talented Jacqui Davis aka The Logic Fairy (http://logicfairy.blogspot.com/) You should check out her work it's fantastic!

Jacqui helped me on the first background I just did the sky and the red sun, and using the technique see showed me I created the rest.

I still have a few to do but it should't take me long.

Protect this ship!

This is the ship, I've been working on today for my animation. It's taken me about 2 and half hours to colour, I'm 70% pleased with how it turned out. I just need to improve on my painting skills more, so must do some more digital painting over the weekend.

Some Fancy Gems!

Here are some gem's I designed a while back, I'm quite proud of them, as I'm never happy with my colouring skills.

Later on this week I hopefully will be finishing my Odyssey animation, and will get to work on design for my final film.

Quick Animation!

Had to make a quick animation because of weekend events of having to look after my sisters I couldn't finish my main idea for click, Bang, Amazing so I did this little short in round about 3 hours, which I'm quite impressed with on the time scale side of things, it needs a few tweaks here and there and a few more in-betweens but I'll come back to it when I have time.

2 out of 3!

Here are two of the animations I've been working on the first is the 9 Prepositions and the second is the Onomatopoeia. The second isn't the final I will redo the wording to make it look better before the final hand in, in december, but I render out a version without the words as I used this task to do a character test for my final film of the year.

I will upload the final film by the end of the weekend.

Hey I remember that!

While uploading some work onto my hard drive I found this picture I did of my self as a Ghostbuster a few years ago, I thought I'd give it a post before I went to bed as it made me chuckle at the fact that my friend Loxy http://loxypro.blogspot.com/ drew me something very similar for my birthday the other week =D

Not sure when I did this but I'm guessing round about 2007 / 06

Odyssey Story Board

Just finished the story board of my first big animation of the 3rd year! I will also be turning this into an animatic tomorrow, so much to do so little time!

It's quite big in dimension size as I didn't want to lose alot of resolution, so hope you enjoy! I've left my notes of it so you have to wait till it's finished to know what going on fully.

BEEF CAKE!

I was playing around on my tablet again, and decided to draw a beefed up version of Odysseus, while listening to the shadow of the colossus sound track. One of my best loved games of all time and in my opinion the best use of music in a game. I'll go into my views of the game later this week when I picked up the HD re-release =P

Lion King 3D!

I'm really looking forward to seeing Lion King 3D at the cinema, It was my favourite disney film I saw at the pictures when I was younger, I'm also very eager to see how they do the 3D and I'm hoping this re-realse will bring a better demand for 2D feature films! So I made a little photoshop for the occasion to get you all in the mood =P

First Animation of my Third year!

This is the title page I have created for the first of three one week animation projects we are doing at university.

The first has to describe nine actions which are

On top

Under

Through

Between

Over

Next to

Inside

Behind

Infront

I have decided to animation two blobs and have given it a circus theme, I didn't have to use the same characters in each part of the animation but thought it would be better practice to make it into a full short, so i have more finished work under my animation belt.

The lines are all done, so the Scanning and Inking begins!

Will post the finished animation in the next few days!

Hey guys, I had the urge to do some animating after packing most my stuff up for my move tomorrow and came up with this little thing.

I will clean this up after I've moved and colour it.

Saying this I will be moving tomorrow so I wont be able to post for a while until I have my internet up and working again.

See you all soon!

Owl of the Woods Sketch Book - Colour tests!

This weekend I have managed to get some colour tests done for my main character in The Owl of the Woods!

This was my first try, at the time I was doing it I felt that it wasn't feeling right but decided to finish it anyway.

I really felt this style clicking with me while doing it, having your two main tone colours as the lines as well made things go alot faster to. I most likely at the moment stay with this style for the character colour. I also decided that he won't wear gloves which stops your attention going straight for this hands.

I tried my hand at drawing a background, it's not great but hoping to get better soon with the help of the very talented Jacqui Davis over the summer.
